Graduate Students

Southern Vermont Area Health Education Center seeks to support students who are on a health professions career track.  SVTAHEC provides internship opportunities to students in an undergraduate program and community projects and clinical rotation support to nurse practitioner, social work students and students from the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont.

Interdisciplinary Community Projects

First year students at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont can get an opportunity to explore Vermont rural health through a clinical rotation. Support is provided to UVM Primary Care, Nursing and Social Work Students.

    Planning to Practice in Vermont?

    The Vermont Educational Loan Repayment for Healthcare Professionals, established by the Vermont General Assembly, is to help ensure a stable supply of primary care providers to meet the healthcare needs of Vermonters. This program is administered by AHEC. Find out more.

    Looking for a Summer Job?

    Clinical Rotations

    Third-year students at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont can get an opportunity to explore Vermont rural health through a clinical rotation in Addison, Bennington, Rutland, Windham and Windsor Counties.

    Learn first-hand about the challenges and rewards of providing primary care in a rural, under-served area

    These are two-to five-week clinical rotations primarily in the disciplines of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN.
