Health Career Awareness Month

Dr. Meghan E. Gunn, MD

As we promote Health Career Awareness Month in Vermont, learn why Dr. Meghan E. Gunn, MD, Pediatrician with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians, affiliated with Southwestern Vermont Medical Center decided to become a physician, and how Southern Vermont AHEC helped her achieve that goal.
“I became interested in a career in healthcare after watching my physician father get diagnosed with and ultimately succumb to brain cancer when I was a teenager. Learning about his sickness was a way for me to work through my feelings and further established my interest in medicine. I chose to give back to my community in the way others had for my father and family and SVTAHEC has allowed me to do that by helping me with large medical school loans through a generous grant.”
