“I have wanted to become a doctor since I was a child. Medicine has allowed me to blend my passion for math and science along with my love for connecting with others. This interest was reaffirmed through my connection with Southern Vermont AHEC, first as a student in their MedQuest Program, then as an intern with CSHIP, College Internship Program, and as a MedQuest Counselor during my first year of medical school. Southern Vermont AHEC was integral in my exploration of medicine and has continued to provide insight into my future career as a physician. I am grateful for these opportunities and recommend AHEC programs for any student interested in the healthcare field.”

To commemorate Health Careers Awareness Month in Vermont, several Vermont health professionals have shared their own impactful stories about why they chose to pursue a health career, and their connection to Southern Vermont AHEC. Happy Health Careers Awareness Month in Vermont, Wyll Everett, MD!
It’s gratifying to see when medical professionals choose to remain in Vermont after they complete their education and training. Wyll Everett, MD is a shining example of just that. He is currently practicing family medicine at Grace Cottage Family Health and Hospital in Townsend, Vermont. Wyll graduated from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and did his family medicine residency at The University of Vermont Medical Center.
