Local health professionals tell us why they chose a health career and why they support the initiatives of SVTAHEC.
, APRN, Nurse Practitioner, Brattleboro Internal Medicine
“I knew I wanted to be a nurse from a young age. After 10 years of med-surgical nursing, I returned to graduate school and became an adult nurse practitioner. As an NP in Vermont and NH, I am able to work independently and currently work as a primary care provider. The career paths for nurses are wide and varied – home care, in patient and clinic settings, research, hospitalist.
I have also been privileged to sit on the SVTAHEC board of directors supporting their initiatives and programs that are so vital in maintaining a strong, robust healthcare work force in Vermont.”
